Arcane Academy

While most countries have their own institutes for magical study the academy in Bizen is more prestigious sees far more students pass through it's doors, difficult as that may be. In the Arcane Academy mages study the weave and the magic that flows through it to refine existing spells and create new ones. Many teachers still apprentice under their seniors, though far less formally. All mages are encouraged to freely discuss magical ideas and discoveries.   The university's main tower building contains lecture halls modeled after amphitheaters. Training dummies, furniture, component crates, and more are stored in huge basement chambers. A greenhouse exists on the grounds to practice plant-related spells and herbalism.   The dormitories are arranged in 3 floors of the front-facing rectangular section. The 1st floor is the reception, mess hall, and bathrooms. On the 2nd floor are the initiates' dorms totaling 90 rooms. The hall between them form an H shape with spiral staircases at each end. If there are more than 90 students enrolling they double up, beginning with the exterior rooms. The 3rd floor has the Adepts and its dorms have been never doubled up. The 4th floor is administrative suites. These rooms are larger than any other and most have multiple chambers. They are reserved for the professors of the academy.   The western tower, connected to the dormitory stairs, is the specimen tower. It is home to a few research subjects that may be one of a kind.   To enroll in the university a student must:
  • -know at least 3 spells (warlocks are exempt).
  • -have a base score of at least 14 in their primary casting stat.
  • -INT of 6 or higher, to communicate.
  • -1000 gold blossoms for an entrance fee.
Upon entry students are given a set of light blue robes, a brown leather component pouch with turn dial clasp, and a blank spellbook (if required).
