The ancient city now called Bizen is the most populous place on the continent and has served as the capital of Nalchaa since it was conquered by Urthemiel McBain 1 year prior to the First Epoch. The imperial palace is a massive castle that seats Nalchaa's government, the throne of King Murasame. His royal court sees the assembly of over 100 nobles, most of whom live in the city's Flower District, his war council is made up of the top 6 generals of Nalchaa, advices on magical matters are presented by a representative of the Arcane Academy and his court magician. The castles security is headed by General Tachibana and a few other humans, but the modern palace guard consists largely of lizardmen taken from the swamps. On the city's eastern wall is the famous Arcane Academy, the largest institute of magical studies in the known world. The city's upper areas flow with wealth and bring goods from many specialty shops and exotic traders while to lower areas by most walls are typically homes for poor laborers & a breeding ground for crime in the city's shadows.
