The Archtrees

The Diegeses says when Ryujin fell to the ground his hearts sank deep into the land and from each of the world's continents grew a massive tree coursing with magical energy. Silent watchers, these trees are recognized for their importance the world over as each one radiates a specific arcane energy from which the 8 schools of magic are derived. Scholars say that all the Archtrees' roots intermingle in one grand root weave beneath the world's crust, allowing their magics to be shared globally. Rumors say Casway's archtree has an extradimensional portal within it that pixies use each third summer to travel home to germinate and that Albion's tree is where the Wood Elvs entered the forest from. Perhaps these are true and the other trees hold magical doors as well? Men may never know, as each tree is hidden in a vast forest or jungle and those who seek them can only reach the tree if it wants to be reached. They often become disoriented and lost, emerging somewhere unexpected or never seen again. In legends the trees' roots hold each continent together and should one ever die so too shall the land.
