Yamimaw

Yorozu was the daughter of Amateratsu in ancient times, but she was swallowed by a demon and kidnapped. When she was finally freed from the demon's gullet by Tajikaro its corruption had turned into Yamimaw the goddess of darkness, the antithesis or her mother in all ways. She vowed revenge on her mother for failing to rescue her, that 4444 years later she would rise to swallow the sun and cast the world into darkness. While this once seemed like an idle legend the weakening of Amateratsu in the 1st epoch inspired believers in her prophecy. The prophecy was fulfilled in the 2nd millennia of the 3rd era and the world was cast into a sunless ice age for 19 long years and in this current age more than half of each year is spent enduring a sunless winter. These undeniable and extreme demonstrations of power have garnered Yamimaw a large cult as well as countless detractors. When the first followers of darkness founded Temple Tenebrae they were made targets of a crusade and slaughtered to a man. While most cities forbid warring in the streets the clerics of Yamimaw oft find themselves trading blows with warriors of other faiths, more than any other religion in history. Their grand temple now serves as a monument of Her power and their perseverance as it draws in new followers every winter.
