An investigative bleed detector is a magickal device that can see the secrets of the dark. It is a small, black box with a single eye in the center. When you place it in a victim, it will reveal any light bleed that is present. Crooked Mile Circle determined the bleed detector that magnifies the secrets of the dark. Its lens separates out the wavelengths of infrared and ultraviolet light. A lens with this technology turns typically invisible bleed visible to humans. Worn on the wrist, it detects bleed that is absorbed into the body. The surge of corruption can lead to extremely cold or a burning freeze that causes the head to swell for a few seconds. If the side effect lasts longer than two minutes, it is expected the bleed is permanent. A bleed should be acknowledged. The detector is a routine issue during a secret society Circle's initiation celebration. If a detector is lost or corrupted a report should be made immediately to the Crooked Mile or other sanctioned chapter. In the wrong hands misinformation probabilities are dangerous. Spouters keeps an assortment of bleed detectors on hand for initiated Crooked Mile members. Some sort of identification or hand sign is required from strangers. It is a reasonable and cautionary practice to have a used or home made detector checked out by an experienced investigator. A breach ocurred during the Six Years War that caused panic. Without explanation an inlet dam broke on the Crystal River. Left behind were two bleed detectors soaked with an unexplained blend of cranial tissue solvents. No Circle has yet determined the correlation between the damaged detectors and the dam operators, but when a few cases are completed, it will be considred. The dam operators were exonerated. They were given tghe detectors earlier that morning by a stranger, but Muriel Lister Lister's sister-in-law lost her house and tool shed to the flood the flowed from the dam. She will not forget the incident.
