The Briarbank College Annex is in East Crooked Mile, near to the Crooked Mile Chapter House. The conference center, three classrooms and library were originally built for Newfaire College retreats. Three years after the war, Jason Garamund and Dr. Dean Quincey commissioned Briarbank College to teach classes at the annex and to expand its library.   Crooked Mile’s residents, excited to find that night school classes would be taught there planted trees and flowers around the campus. Workers who commuted by train Newfaire to work signed up for the classes, only to realize that teachers did not fill positions at the annex. A few classes finally opened to night school pupils. There is a long waiting list to be accepted. Day classes are funded by Newfaire parents and the Newfaire Briarbank Alumni Association. Wealthy students who require remedial coursework prior to entrance at the main campus fill the day classes.   Several students who intern with Dr. Dean Quincey elected to join the Crooked Mile Chapter that is associated with the Fairelands Candela Obscura secret society. One of Briarbank College's professors, Elizabeth Ogden is a founding member. It is her responsibility to audition new members for the group. Recently, she was also requested to find a new Lightkeeper for the group. Founder, Jason Garamund wants to retire.
