MRice Log Date 1907
Crooked Mile’s children and young people attend Little School, a one-room schoolhouse. Most of their parents never attended school at all. They’ve learned by tradition and apprenticeship their skills. Because mine workers who commute through the Bridleborne Mountains every day suffer from current maladies or watch their friends grow ill, they decided it is important that their children receive a formal education.
While the Little School would appear to be lacking, intern teachers who study at the Briarbank College Annex are eager to teach the 30 children K - 12 that attend their classes.
Support for the school is donated by Crooked Mile residents. The Crooked Mile Circle doesn’t always take on charitable causes, but Little School and Quincey's Clinic are exceptions. They contribute freely, because they realize how effective education and health can be to eliminating the bleed’s corruption and contagion.
