Magical Black Mold
Regular black mold exposure, even of the more aggressive strain Stachybotrys chartarum, often is not fatal and merely results in fatigue, headaches, chest tightness, mucous membrane irritation and for chronic exposure possible pulmonary disease, bone marrow suppression, and development of human disease related to toxin exposure. When magic is added to the mix these symptoms become not only more rapid, but much more deadly.
Transmission & Vectors
Transmission vectors observed in magical black mold have so far been primarily airborne. Other tests determining transmission are pending.
Causes
The causation of magical black mold is similar to most molds, except that spores from the unique genus of Stachybotrys chartarum found in the laboratory basement of the Castle in the Clouds must be present for this mold to grow.
Symptoms
Physical symptoms of exposure to Stachybotrys chartarum (M.) are in line with regular Stachybotrys chartarum though there is current testing to see if this mycelium has a different physical manifestations that mimic the symptoms ants experience when exposed to Ophiocordyceps unilateralis.
Treatment
There is no current special treatment for exposure to magical black mold.

History
This mold was first discovered in an underground laboratory in the defunct Lee University and later known as the Castle in the Clouds resort on Raccoon Mountain in Crossroads City. It was uncovered by urban explorers and recorded by a team of explorers contracted by the Crossroads City Magic Council. The first victim of this mold exposure is Moira Hughes who has been significantly mutated by her exposure. Other victims were found on site and have perished. There is one other living mutated creature who is currently under quarantine with the Order. On-going studies are being done to determine the origin of this magical mold and its expected long term repercussions to the populace and geographical area.
