The Heroes of Crystalia
Summary
Centuries go, a powerful evil nearly set the fair land to ruin. All hope seemed lost when four heroes rose together from the ashes. The mage Ranaeril Morhorn, the swordmaster Kalu el-Ansari, the cleric Shabella Leolen, and the Wind Hero. After enduring great trials to prove their bond and virtue, the heroes each called upon the power of the Elemental Crystals that give the continent its name: those of Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind to smite the land of evil once and for all...or so it seemed.
In reality, the Dark Lord knew that there were eight Elemental Crystals, and that the heroes would need all eight to truly defeat him. Before the four heroes embarked on their quest, he sent out hunts to have the heroes killed before they found out their destiny. Thus, the Heroes of Lightning, Ice, Light, and Darkness all vanished, either having been murdered or slipped away retreating into exile.
The Four Heroes of Crystalia were celebrated and immortalized for all time, but no one could have anticipated that the seal on the Dark Lord would ever break. Now, a new generation must finish where the Four Heroes left off.
Variations & Mutation
Variation lies as of the ultimate fates of the "Lost Heroes". Multiple sources across the ages have claimed to witness strange behaviors that would entail a hero.
Different races and regions have a tendency to further embellish the hero belonging to them. For example, many elves favor Ranaeril and Shabella, the latter especially in her home of Khuweth Kingdom, where her descendants are still part of the royal family.
