Whisper of the Brilliant Stones (/ˈ(h)wispər/əv/T͟Hə/ˈbrilyənt/stōns/)
For hundreds of thousands of years, peoples of all kinds have looked to the Elemental Crystals for protection and pray to them regularly. Their connection serves as a reminder and model for kinship to all creatures and respect and harmony with nature, even on occasions when the crystals themselves lie dormant.
History
Ancient peoples were unsure of how the world works. They spoke of myths about gods that ruled over the forces of nature. When the crystals responsible for the natural phenomena were discovered at the dawn of civilization, these beliefs transferred to them, including the prayers. These traditions have been used for thousands of years to keep monstrous beings away, so when they seemingly stopped working, it was immediately taken as a sign that something went horribly wrong.
Execution
In its simplest form, the Whisper of the Brilliant Stones is prayer. At its most complex, it involves dances and full-on offerings. There is no "right" way to pray, although there are a number of general forms as well as specific Whispers that each crystal has.
Components and tools
Religious items. Sometimes, icons or gemstones representing the forces of nature (fire, water, earth, wind, electricity, ice, light, and darkness) are used in tandem to call forth the blessing of specific crystal(s).
Participants
While anyone can pray to the crystals, the most powerful practitioners are people who live to provide care for others i.e. hotel employees, doctors, nurses, teachers, firefighters, and social service workers; as they most embody the combined spirit of bonds.
Observance
The Whispers are most frequently practiced in times of impending crisis when the crystals are needed most; be it a drought, flood.
