Arrived in the village of Bergemart invited by a mysterious letter and soon after setting up shop started receiving complex and well-paying inquiries which brought wealth and jobs to the village. 
Tanvyn has been living in luxury for the best part of the last 30 years, and in the last year, things have turned sour when the jobs stopped coming. With the Artificer being secretive about his jobs his explanations for the lack of orders weren't accepted by the town, and he turned into a pariah, eventually succumbing to the pressure of the town funding excessive projects with his own wealth. Believing this to be merely a temporary setback, and things would return to normal soon, this wouldn't be the case. And when this became apparent, these experiments stopped, and the town sunk deeper once more.
Currently Tanvyn resides in his mansion on the edge of town, it's many large rooms filled with the clunky and useless remnants of his self-funded experiments. These rooms and their contents are now slowly turning to mush, and escaping this encroachment of the elements Tanvyn has made the workshop area of the house his domain.
