Noun: Auran
Sailing all over the northern seas, the veiled traders from the Auran region are recognizable as fighting. Their dark ships made from forged steel outlined by many braziers are as recognizable as they are sturdy. Their goal, travel the northern coast, provide trade where no-one else will and make a profit doing so, and eventually bring the acquired gold and goods back to one of the two large metal cities: Aciotheas to the west and Aegnas to the east. The traders have been faring the seas for as long as the recorded go, and so many rumours spectating over the immense wealth that is stored in those cities are doing the rounds, not confirmed nor denied.
From a distance, the two cities look like large sharp piles of scrap metal, but upon further inspection one would find out that these large towers made from finely crafted metal decorated with intricate carvings have almost a protective feel. That would be the case if anyone would be allows access into their sacred troves. The streets made from black stone, brimming with power and heat for no apparent reason. The Auran’s don’t seem to care, for they’ve made the city that way, or so is commonly thought.
Whenever a Tiefling breaths their first breath, one can be certain to expect a visit from one of the veiled traders, who will offer to take the often-unwanted child with them. In rare cases when the offer is refused, or the traders are unable to get to the child, they still watch over these fiendish beings often allowing them to travel on their fast ships or allowing them into their cities of metal.
