This new 24-hour laundromat is located in the old Uptown Laundry building which was left empty when the laundry moved to Jenkinne street two years ago. Many drug connections are brokered here, and deals completed in the parking lot. The police are beginning to drive by here more frequently.
Campus call girl Angel Daley uses the laundromat as her business office, taking names and addresses for in-call visits. A junior at Missituk University, Angel’s sideline occupation is one of the best-kept secrets among the student body. Angel has set up shop in the Laundromat and gives herself to any student (man or woman) who is a “generous friend” and who succeeds in a Credit Rating roll.
Although she enjoys a good time, Angel has kept some discipline, banking a good deal of her prostitution money and spending a little of it on reefer, occasional drink, and the very best fashions sold in New Jerusalem. Angel has also kept up her studies – she’s a Business major – and has plans upon her graduation to become a madam. Angel's parents have no idea any of this is going on and would be outraged if they knew.
Though the majority of her clients are fellow undergraduates and a few graduate students, Angel has diversified her portfolio lately, accepting a few generous male New Jerusalemites. How long Angel can keep up her student by day/companion by night dual-existence before running into real trouble is unknown.
From early morning 'til early evening the laundromat is overseen and staffed by Isabelle Dillon. Isabelle is a 30 year old local who lives one street over on Federal street. She gets an early start in order to get to work as the dawn arrives; fortunately, she lives comparatively close to the place and doesn’t have to wander the streets in the early hours. Users of the laundromat tend to gossip a lot, both to each other and to Isabelle, and as a result Isabelle knows quite a bit about what’s going on in the district. She is very much aware of Angel Daley and her activities but keeps her mouth shut about it. She likes Angel, who is always polite and pleasant to her, and she has recently even begun to toy with the idea of 'going on the game' with her.
