451 AC - Spider Incident. A specimen of Arachnid Arborobus makes its way to a Rupeean settlement disguised as a potted plant, later killing an unknown number of civilians. Still rumoured to be a terror attack to this day.
452 AC - Formation of Vulpes Defence Force (VDF) to find and destroy monstrous creatures before civilians are harmed.

Religion
Sestians worship their colony ship Invictus, who is seen as a patron of comfort, warmth and family. Properties the ship provided in a very real sense after her crash, and symbols of what and how the Sestians will survive.
Foreign Relations
Tends to see outsiders as friends not yet made, but in the presence of open firepower they become very cautious.
Education
Education is funded by the state (House), and is extensive and universally provided to all House members. The quality of a House’s minds and manners are a particular point of pride between Houses.

Currency
The national standard currency is the Arction, a decimal coinage consisting of 100 Invinus. The Arction is still fixed to the cost of providing a given unit of warmth to a standard house, and fluctuates with the fortunes of modern energy generation.
Legislative Body
Matriarchal monarchy, in which successive rulers are selected by a college of elector Houses. For the last 70 Sestian years, all empresses have been the ruler of House Summer.
Judicial Body
Monitors foreign nations where possible. The House structure that governs day to day life does not necessarily permit the formation of an internal intelligence apparatus.
