At the same time as sustaining an incursion into Central America at this time, the US foolishly also attempted a quick military coup in the UK, seeing them as much-weakened and vulnerable, and also as a potential military staging point into Europe, should the need ever arise.   Ambitious and ludricrous, not to mention expensive, the effort only succeeded in damaging much of the UK infrastructure, the large part of which was never replaced, and permanently destroying any goodwill or allegiance that the two countries ever once shared.   The US were eventually forced to withdraw due to rising costs and stalling progress whilst the cost of their Central American conflict was also rising sharply.   UK residents consider this a victory comparable to the Battle of Britain, and many call it BoB2, hailing it as proof of the islands irrepressible defiance of all invasion attempts.

In contrast to the destructive rampage that the US perpetrated against the UK only eleven yearsa previously, damage that the nation had yet to recover from, when Russia invaded the UK it was an entirely more civilised process.   Russian forces systematically eliminated pockets of what little military resistance that was mounted against them and advanced swiftly upon the Capital. It was whilst laying siege at the very gates of victory, as it were, that Russian command and government suddenly unanimously resolved and publicly announced its withdrawal from the action. Reasons cited were that it was concluded to be too expensive to establish a new Russian territory in the UK.   Subsequent commentators have realised that the usefulness of the UK as a staging point to invade Europe declined abruptly as starvation and disease was quickly rendering even Europe a less and less appealing prize.   Commentators have also postulated that the Russian invasion was even in direct opposions to the UKs insistance on being uninvadeable, propoganda being used to remind Britons of the Norman invasion almost 1000 years previous.

A Military coup occurs in the United Kingdom and the UK government collapses. The UK monarchy is also ended.
