Session 1: Henry's Missing!?/ Tech Support needed!
General Summary
What I Remember.
Date: Sunday, February 10th, 2041 The party has made connections with their plot points and their individual goals for the campaign.- Bear, after a night of partying after a concert woke up to the phone blowing up in the middle of the day from Rowze, in request of a mission which would clear the debt that he's accrued due to hiring bodyguards for combat zone venues.
- Rowze wakes up to a gut wrenching 'bad' feeling, as she realized that her previous client, had not returned or reported back any thing from their task which was to acquire data related to a hidden cybernetics project at Rocklin Augmentics. Rowze, soon after attempting a call to this client Henry Truen, is called by the clients co-worker in distress, about the whereabouts of the client. He did a data search on Henry and found out that Rowze was the last person he called on his agent. Rowze not having a clue about where he'd be, is then told by his coworker that his presentation that they were working on will be in jeopardy if he's not present. Rowze assured that she will find out what happened to Henry. She contacts many people in her work (She has 8 contacts; this was a player roll (2d20/2)) and finds out that he left the Rocklin campus that evening, from a solo that operates for Rocklin Execs, however his whereabouts stop there. She then contacts another solo, Kato Sansbury, that works with the Tyger Claws, a gang that watches over the Little China Combat Zone and part of the Upper Marina, and they were hired by a group to capture a high value target by the Scavvs, and take him to a warehouse in the Heywood Industrial Park. He calls a Lawman named Hal Bashawn about someone who knows the area, and he references Victor 'The Don' Torelli. Dakota calls him about the situation. After a phone call with Victor, she's invited to show up to Oz's clinic to meet with other runners that Victor has gathered to take care of the issue at hand. Rowze also contacts Bear, who is in debt to her, to help with the mission to and to get paid for the job.
- Vita, also known as Neon Prophet, Rank 4 Netrunner, wakes up in her cube hotel and is met with a phone call from Toolhand with an issue at hand. He contacts her to see if she can break the code on a certain software that's making Rocklin brand cyberware malfunction, however she needs to be picked up by Toolhand. At this point Toolhand and Vita are already on a first name basis as they've known each other for 6 months now. As she is picked up by Toolhand they are confronted by two Tyger Claws boosters and told to give up the vehicle and the situation escalates into an altercation that ends with the gangers dead, Toolhand injured and Vita nearly unscathed. Vita also gets a call from an anonymous caller about a mission to find info on a secret software blueprint held by Militech.
- Rowan Byrns, also known as Toolhand, a Rank 4 Tech, is working on his El Camino truck when he gets a call of distress from his buddy Oz who's working next door. He says that he needs help restraining and pacifying patients who've cybernetics have gone haywire. He helps them out and investigates the cause of the problem by taking the cybernetics apart and linking in to diagnose the issue. After a couple unsuccessful attempts of fixing the errors involved he finds out the issue is due to a missing software update that is only compatible with newer Rocklin augmentics cyberware which most of the city can't afford. In attempt of modifying the cyberware and assessing the situation Rowan attempts to bypass the issue with his own jerryrigging however it fails as this is a software issue rather than a hardware issue. Noticing this he calls a netrunner that he does repairs to her cyberdeck for, which is another player character named Vita. After picking her up from the Combat zone that she resides in Toolhand and Neon are confronted by boostergangers that stick them up for Toolhands El Camino. This escelates into an altercation that leaves both gangers eliminated.
