By Roy Triggerman Is Heavy Artillery Coming to the Streets of Crescent City?
Now that the dust has settled on the unceremonious arrest and imprisonment-to-await-trial of former lead detective and de facto captain of the DeSolee precinct, Dominick Blue LeCeruleen, there is still an open question as to who will take charge of the DeSolee precinct and finally start bringing law and order to the streets of DeSolee. It seems like CCPD’s MAXTAC South might have a plan. Several eye witnesses have reported seeing three MAXTAC Myrmidons at the DeSolee CCPD precinct in recent days, as well as MAXTAC technicians and operators. The E-05LE Myrmidon is a heavily armed, autonomous, AI driven, law enforcement ground drone, usually only deployed in riot or cyberpsycho situations, or in counties abroad which require extreme measures to their law enforcement. Reports suggest that DeSolee police officers are receiving vital training to deploy the Myrmidon on the streets of DeSolee, or more accurately, the Myrmidons are learning the new mission of police patrol. The E-05LE Myrmidon is a bipedal robot, standing over 8-feet tall. It can be equipped with a variety of mission-specific ordinance from tear gas to incendiary grenades. But at the heart of it all is the autonomous artificial intelligence. Pioneered by AGDISTIS and perfected by PHARAOH, the Myrmidon’s “brain” allows it to make split-second, life or death decisions taking into account hundreds of variables at once. Unlike your Agent or even the Framers, the Myrmidon AI is not connected to any computer networks. In fact, its heavily shielded from any outside connectivity. Once on patrol, the only thing that can influence the Myrmidon beyond its programming is the voice of its partner, usually a human MAXTAC officer. Is the situation in DeSolee so dire that these heavily armed Myrmidon drones are necessary? It is certainly hard to imagine a 99 PROBLEMS gangbanger going toe to toe against one of these intimating robots. But is this what DeSolee families want walking their streets and protecting their children? Only time will tell. While my sources at MAXTAC refused to comment, those who have witnessed the capabilities of the Myrmidon first hand have called it “merciless, furious, unrelenting, and evil.” This reporter hopes that CCPD reconsiders deploying these unfeeling machines on our streets.
