By Vic Revell Megastar Rhythm-Man of GALIL3O Returns to Crescent City to Play a Sold-Out Concert
Crescent City is abuzz with the return of one of its great heroes of music, Grilla. Grilla is slated to make several public and a few private appearances. I’m here to give the lowdown to all of you Grilla fans trying to catch a glimpse of out hometown great while he’s in town. First is the obvious: The concert at Lazarus Stadium April 9, 10, and 11. The opening acts are Cacophony and Kitten Spit. Kitten Spit goes on at 8pm. All three shows are sold out. If you are lucky enough to find a scalper, expect to pay about E1000 for the cheap seats. Even with my years of faithful reporting, I was not given any tickets… Grilla also has a full dance card the week leading up to the big concert weekend. On Monday he’s been invited to tour the latest in cyberwear at PHARAOH. CEO Adam Osmond has been wanting to see a full ‘borg up close in personal and it looks like now he gets his chance. Tuesday night Grillas playing a private show at Orpheo Entertainment headquarters. So, unless you are a media exec or perhaps a well-known entertainment reporter, you’re not getting in. Rumor has it Wednesday Grilla’s booked a private table at The Bleeding Edge uptown. Who could be his lucky date? Is it you, dear reader? But don’t lose hope, dear reader! Grilla is a DeSolee kid, born and raised. Chances are pretty good he will be popping into some of his favorite old clubs. Be sure drop by Neptune on Thursday night. Local favorite Nitro Belvedere is playing and Grilla might be scouting for some new talent. Grilla is also known to like the chill vibe at Pantera’s. Bellerophon would be caught dead here, but Grilla has always been the most down to earth of the GALIL3O trio. And don’t forget that Nighthawks is open all night. If you were a cyborg with no need for sleep, where would you be at 4am? Where else might you see the big guy? Well, don’t call me a conspiracy theorist, Dear Reader, but there has been some buzz on the street about this so-called “Naraka-Cult”, and as all of us true GALIL3O fans know, there is more than one reference to “Naraka” in their repertoire. Is it possible we’ll see a jailhouse visit to GALIL3O’s #1 obessed fan and the Atomic Butcher himself, Stanley LaVelle? If I were Grilla, I’d stay as far away as possible from this dirtbag. But Grilla has never been afraid to “look evil in the face, to set the record straight, bring down the heavy mace, or make a case for the disgraced.”
