Emir (UH-MEER)

The Emir's are the Prince's of Sraebadah. Each Prince can trace his lineage back to the original Sultan.
The title Emir is inherited by the oldest son of the sitting Emir that is born to a wife. No child born of a mistress or deemed illegitimate is allowed to be seated as an Emir. Women do not inherit the title of Emir before their brother, however a mans daughter will inherit his seat before his brother will. A female Emir is called an Emira.
Emir is only used by the sitting ruler of a province and his heir. All other nobility are referred to as Mir or Mira. The royal line continues down two times before fizzling into lesser titles.
