Magic Items
Legendary Relics
Fleur, the Sunflower Maul. A legendary morningstar once wielded by a devout paladin, this weapon was forged from a shard of pure light and used to best the demon lord Yeenoghu in battle. Lyre of the Songmother. (Legendary) A lyre originally crafted for the Songmother, a legendary fae and song-spinner before her fall. The lyre is said to have incredible power, but moreso if the owner knows The One Song. Benediction. (Artifact) A blade of holy light and divine purpose. Benediction has a mind of its own, and will serve only those it deems righteous. The Witchblade. (Very Rare) Originally crafted for a high-ranking Knight of the Red Scale, this flaming greatsword was acquired by Lady Valentine during her time as a wandering adventurer. It has since soaked in the presence of her dark magic to acquire new, sinister magical power. Unholy Black Blade of Lord Soth. (Very Rare) A longsword of dark power, wielded by the death knight Lord Soth during the third century. Leaf & Limb. Reforged along with a frostfire blade once belonging to Janus, Leaf & Limb is a two-headed, relatively light glaive created by Kno'ahn which can, at the push of a button, split into two shortswords. Kno'ahn's Chromatic Quiver. A satchel of javelins not unlike the javelin of lightning, but each deals a different type of damage. Psychic, necrotic, fire (Juno's Stinger) at least. Blessed Banewhip. A whip fashioned from human vertebrae and ending with a great, bony claw severed from a Boneclaw. The whip casts a pale white glow, functions as a mace of smiting and can also extend up to 20 feet to grab a target and reel them in. It was wielded by Admiral Fortuna until her death in 378. Elyon's Staff of Power. Originally given to him by Temerias in the Infinite Library, the staff of power attuned to Elyon as he did to it; it now bears a strong tendency toward teleportation and conjuration magic. Shirley. A battleaxe of dwarven make, it must be attuned to by a dwarf and lets off harmless steam when other dwarves are nearby. A character attuned to Shirley deals an extra die of damage as long as another dwarf (friend or foe) is within some short distance. Originally 30 feet I think, but maybe 10 is better. Although her wielders are known to talk to her as if a close friend or lover, it's worth noting that Shirley is not remotely sentient.Weapons Borne of the Forge of Souls
The Blessed Forge was, at one time, deeply corrupted by the blood of the The Red God. During this time, any and all weaponry crafted by the forge sought the destruction of all the realms, often with nefariously indirect and convoluted fashions. Those weapons are as follows: Gilded Rapier. (Very Rare)A long blade of gleaming gold. Any being slain by this weapon is petrified to a statue of pure, solid gold. A king's weapon. This gilded weapon has not been seen for nearly two centuries. Goristro's Fury. (Legendary) The only accursed Weapon of Seven recovered since they were lost in the First Age. Goristro's Fury is a hefty spiked maul of demonsteel that invokes a preternatural wrath in the wielder, and the strength to use it. Hammer of Creation. (Legendary)A smith's hammer that, when struck against a solid surface, can create works of art limited only by the imagination of the wielder. A tool of incomparable artistry and creation. Languora Bow of the Astral Huntress. (Rare) A bow fashioned from the jawbone of a Languora demon and wielded by Yana, famed huntress of the Astral Sea and beyond. Arrows fired from this bow rip through flesh and soul alike. Ruination. (Artifact)A thin, curved blade chiselled from a singled, unbroken ruby. Ruination is a sentient blade currently in possession of Zarastraza, ruler of New Naserine. The blade has power over fiends and a thirst for conquest. Sanguine. (Artifact) A blade of cold steel. Unlike its siblings, Sanguine is sentient and clear in its sinister goals. This blade seeks the blood of humanoids, preferably good-hearted ones, and will stop at nothing in pursuit of its feast. At Sanguine's weakest, it remains powerful enough to grant Haste to its wielder. Sheogorath.(Artifact) If a blade could be truly mad, its name would be Sheogorath. This sentient swords thrives on madness, insanity and chaos. Its powers range from shapeshifting, to invoking insanity (in friend and foe), and hallucinations, but its goal is clear--the madness must spread. Skysinger. (rare) An oathbow fashioned for an Aarakockran huntsman. The hunter speaks the weapon's command phrase, and death comes to their foes. Death flies on swift wings.Wondrous Items
Amulet of the Dragon. An amulet fashioned from the scale of a golden dragon. Legends speak of its powers to transfigure the wearer into a true dragon, albeit for short periods. Amulet of Kerala. An amulet offered by a chosen Saint of Ko'suth. While worn, the amulet grants the wearer great strength. Kerala's statue, and her amulet, are found near the western edge of the Wailing Wood. Codex Arcana. Destroyed. (Artifact)The Codex Arcana was used in a failed ritual performed by the Wizards of Nine in the North Cambria capitol, Frell. The ritual was disrupted by foul creatures, who razed Frell to the earth and slaughtered the spellcasters before performing their own dark ritual. The Codex Arcana was perverted into the Book of Vile Darkness. Peros' Mood Ring. (Uncommon) A large silver ring inset with a heavy gemstone. The gemstone, and the magic granted by the ring, shift with the wearer's mood. The Krakencloak. Fashioned by Admiral Fortuna and a favoured item of hers, the cloak was originally fashioned from the stony tentacles of a roper, but the stone tendrils have softened and become slick, suctioned and hooked like those of the kraken that slew her. The tentacles hang from the wearer's shoulders and can be used to grip surrounding walls, functioning as Slippers of Spider Climb. (Deine's) Shifting Saddle. Deine was the first to make a Shifting Saddle, but not the last. Nevertheless, hers remains the greatest. This saddle, and others like it, moulds to the shape of the beast who wears it and rests as a backpack or bedroll on humanoids. It has space for hunting trophies which provide bonuses so long as the trophy remains in place--a bag hung from a hook and holding ectoplasm of a Banshee grants the saddle the ability to cast Magic Weapon, for example (Wraithclaw property).Armor
Armor of the Fifth Emperor. A set of ornate, +1 plate of fire resistance accented in gold and painted with red enamel. It originally belonged to Emperor Shamash, the fifth emperor of the Drakish Empire of the First Age. Aegis Eternal. (Artifact) One of precious few relics blessed by Xandrius herself. The Aegis and its wielder exist beyond the passage of time, and those who dwell near it are able to resist the forward march of time. The Aegis is of great value to the orcish druids who made it, and currently resides in the city of New Naserine. Armor of Holy Fire. A set of full plate wielded in turn by Solaire the Penitent and later Fauna, the Lady of Sunlight. This fire resists all but the most intense of flames and is of particular use to those devoted to Azrael. Cloak of the Unbreakable Lion. (Very Rare) The hide of a great white lion. The hide of this beast was impenetrable to weaponry, and the cloak retains a resistance to physical weapons. Highly prized, this armament has nevertheless been absent from the public eye for centuries.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
