Whitespine Orcs

A clan of orcish warriors that call the Druid's Gully home. Easily distinguished from their more temperate counterparts by their red-brown skin, and the alabaster paint they wear.   The Whitespine orcs have a particular appetite for retribution, and have been known to create Druagar to bring justice to their enemies.

Funerary Traditions

Fallen Whitespine orcs are brought to a special graveyard in the Druid's Gully, called the Field of Bones. Here, cairns are built of sandstone and adorned with the weapons of the fallen orcs' foes. Traditionally, there are two types of cairns: generational cairns, where entire orcish communities are buried with the ruler of their time; and battle cairns, where all the fallen of a given battle are buried together.

History

In the third century S.A, a group of adventurers razed the whitespine orcs' encampment while the orcs' hunting parties were away. The adventurers left orcish heads on spikes in the charred remains of their home. In retaliation, the Whitespines conjured a Druagar, which was later defeated.   Following the razing of their camp (above), one of the murdered orcs returned as a Dullahan; he was later destroyed by The Favoured Few, who sanctified the weapon to create the Blessed Banewhip.
