Wolfs Hunt

A matting and a coming to age ceremony performed by the northern wolfs in The frozen backbone.
The young wolves gather to perform this strange ritual for them to be accepted as adults and to gain the right to mate.
Are three types of hunting: 

• Solo wolfs: This hunt a prey, they can hunt from simple rabbits to even dangerous preys for a lonely wolf: Ice worms, certain eagles, Giants, Grok or even aquatic species that represents a danger cause the environment.
  
• Pack: A group of 4 to 6 wolves can hunt together but they must to elevate the stake of the hunt because the advantage they have.
  
• A pair: In some rare cases a male and a female hunt together to gain the right to be a couple, to mate between them.

The hunt can take several days even months in some occasions. No one knows how this time is set, but when is over the elders of the packs "qualify" the hunt based on the prey, the danger and other factors, the wolf with the better hunt can choose mate, some cases in a pack the wolfs only choose to remain "single" and compete the following year solos, in order to have a better mate. 

Renown hunts

A pair of black/gray wolfs, hunt together a great eagle, this rare species live in the top of mountains, in very difficult and almost all times only reached through flight moreover this are large, very large creatures, their wingspan can reach 3m and are fierce; how they hunt a creature twice the size of a large wolf know one knows the history, the male has a severe wound, and lose one of his frontal legs, the female, a face scar that cost her eye; but they not only gain the right to be couple, they are the leaders of the first pack that settle in a middle part of a mountain. They are revered, honored even with their conditions. They earned and above all, until now, they prove are resourceful and cunning.
Other better know history is the one with a very large white wolf, strong and fearless. He, alone, hunt a Ice Wizard Giant, he succeed as the first wolf in hunt a wizard, a powerful being, intelligent and huge. Moreover, even with his wounds, he presented the prey alive! when the rite end the wolfs "cure" the wizard and let him go. Was the first time too, the giants understood this species are more complex and intelligent they really think.

 

History

With the recent change in the ecosystem, the coming of the giants to this place, the wolves restring their territories and even create some in the mointains.

Participants

All the young wolves, male and female, to earn their right to matte.

Observance

Late in the year, wolves of different packs and the right age, reunite to perform this "hunt" ritual.  They can hunt in a pack of at most 6 wolves, as a pair or individually. In the case of a pair of wolves they must hunt a larger prey than any alone wolf to gain the right of be a "couple". Lone wolfs are qualified by the type and danger that hunting the prey represents; then they can choose a mate. Last the packs have have to hunt a prey twice more important than any lone wolf to not be selected by them.
