Krenhold (krɛnhəʊld)

Krenhold is the capital of Gau Dwarovar, the northmost civilized settlement of the Caverns of Dwarovar, on the borders of the Green Horde. It has the nickname "The Spacious Hold" due to its wide roads and large buildings. Even though it's a capital, not many live here. There are deep pits of lava between roads, so it's suggested not to walk close to the edges.

Demographics

Due to being close to the Dwarovtár and Krenhol, and essentially coordinating their watch, Krenhold itself has a lot of military personnel. The Guards that watch over these critical locations often find themselves living in Krenhold, essentially giving it a Guard population that's larger than its citizen population. The rest of the citizen are mostly retired or wealthy Dwarves.

Government

The government priorizites protection from the Green Horde and the Surface above everything else, its policies and decisions are rather militaristic. Otherwise it's a pretty standard Dwarvish government.

Districts

The Hold is the city itself, and it has two gates and roads that lead to Dwarovtár and Krenhol which are essentially their own districts (but are only loosely part of the settlement).

Guilds and Factions

It mostly has political factions. Being the capital of the nation and full of wealthy Dwarves there are plenty of political debates to get into.

History

One of . Ever since the Empire of Dwarovar fell apart, it's been under the control of Gau Dwarovar.
