A settlement created with the sole purpose of serving the empire and extends its influence over territory owned by its vassals. Contrary to the military settlements elsewhere, this so called imperial outpost can not stand on its own if the empire falls - there's no rule except that of the overseer and no nobles nor economy except for what the empire provides.
