Brigadia is a medium-sized country in the south of the Known World, characterised by the many bridges people can see over their heads. It is the one of the only countries in the Known World to have areas that are at sea-level. Brigadia is often called the Bridge, as it borders the New World.

Geography

As Brigadia is in the south, it is warmer than most countries in the Known World. There are many cliffs and hills throughout the country. While the cliff edges inside the country are charcoal grey or black, the cliff edges facing the sea are white. The white colour comes from the rocks being exposed to centuries of erosion. There are also some areas that are just above sea level, but they tend to be beaches or the areas between the inland cliffs.
Brigadia is also known for its many bridges, both man-made and natural. These bridges connect the cliff-tops to each other, allowing people to travel easily without having to jump or fly (though some people do try).

Culture

Brigadia is a melting pot of cultures and values, as it connects two continents together. However, one thing is certain: Brigadians love to be entertained. Thanks to the majority of the population having Psyche powers, there is a booming entertainment industry.
However, the vast array of entertainment hides a culture of lonliness, isolation and lack of trust between people.

Demographics

Brigadia has a mixture of many different species who live there, making it the most diverse country in the Known World. There are also many Fey who live there, however, very few people seem to know about them as they tend to hide in plain sight.
Brigadia's geography ensures the social classes stay separated and almost never interact. The wealthy and powerful live high on the clifftops, while the rest live on the lower areas. The middle classes live on the hills and small cliffs. The bridges allow the upper and middle classes to cross the cliffs without mingling with the masses, but also serve as a way to keep the lower classes in their "place". Although it is not governmental policy, the understanding is that the lower classes do not climb the cliffs, or access the bridges.

In Brigadia, one can choose a rewarding career in the entertainment industry, even if they do not have Psyche powers. Many people are actors, magicians, comedians, and host a wide array of game shows. Although these jobs are often taken by the upper classes, some people from the lower classes do end up doing these jobs.
Most lower class people end up doing street entertainment, like street magic and standup comedy. However, because many of them are poor, they often spend their lives scamming and stealing from people, mainly using their powers.
The powers of Psyche lend themselves well towards entertainment, as many are seasoned telepaths, or masters of illusion and invisibility. However, one only needs creativity and passion to make a name for themselves in Brigadia.
