Abbey of Saint Markovia

Looming high above Krezk is the Abbey of Saint Markovia. After Saint Markovia and her followers failed to overthrow Strahd, the abbey became a fortress closed off from the rest of the world, the inhabitents within going mad and killing each other. When a strange follower of the Morninglord (The Abbot) arrived, he turned the place into a madhouse made of the mutilated people whos parts he used to make his golems.
The Abbot was killed in 735 by the Sheriffs of Barovia and taken over by Aukan "Gravetender" Katho-Olavi who looks to turn it into a place for education and healing once again.
