Resurrection of Queen Laeone
Saved by the Pen
The resurrection of Queen Laeone is a common legend told in most of Dysvoll. It is often tied to the pride of being from Dysvoll, and many nations claim that Queen Laeone was born specifically in their country. However, most of this is purely made up, as many of the nations wouldn't even have been founded during the events of the legend.
She managed to take down quite a bit of the opposing dark fae army, but she was overrun and blasted with strong dark magic. Her four children recovered her body, and as her 3 oldest children got ready to bury her, the youngest son refused to give up on his mother. Ilden tracked for days upon days until he, by chance, bumped into a Spirit Fae portal. He went there and managed to steal The Spirit Pen of Yailiken. This pen was magically infused with Spirit Magic and was able to both kill someone and bring them back from the dead.
Ilden used the pen to revive his mother and she and the army brought down the enemy and won the war.
The pen was in the royal family's possession for years, but after Ilden died, it vanished and has not been confirmed seen again.
The story of the Queen and the Pen
Queen Laeone was a legendary Queen who is primarily known for leading the humans against the fae during a war that was said to have occurred over 2000 years ago. This means that it was before Dark Fall It is said that a group of greedy Dark Fae invaded the lands of Laeone's kingdom to steal riches. Leaone was left to lead the armies after her husband tragically died during an ambush.
She is said to have sought out the Light Fae and she was marked with a Light Mark.
This is usually frowned upon by the humans, but in this story, they tell it so that the light fae of the past were the purest of creatures and she was as well.
However, it is implied that no Fae is good at the current point in time.
The legend of the resurrection of Queen Laeone might not be true, but it is heartwarming! Imagine having a child who's willing to look for something he has no clue what is, just because he can't bear to lose you.

The legend of the Queen is quite popular amongst the different nations in Dysvoll. However, we have not officially confirmed whether she actually existed or not!
This is such a great myth - it even has a bit of a moral lesson about children and their parents in there. I particularly love the bit about the light mark and how humans frown on it, but tell it anyway with the caveat that no Fae are good nowadays.
