Arcadia. Once the most verdant planet in the galaxy, it is now an almost dead world after the Junns attempted to invade using ELE weapons that devastated the planets ecology.
As a member of the 46th Defense Group Pack watched his home world burn. So he’s none to pleased with the Junns or their military the Daliun Warriors. He and the 46th expressed this when their ONE group stopped and crippled the Daliun Invasion force. During that battle Pack found himself face to face with the Fleet General Aika himself.
The encounter left Pack with a simple scar about his right eye…Aika lost his left arm and the Capital Ship. After the battle the 46th found themselves outlawed by the Arcadians and blamed for the ELE attack. Several members surrendered themselves, the rest left on divergent paths. Many became Mercs for hire. Pack Loren followed that path.
He returned to the Targothian system for quick work repairing ships while he worked on restoring a M.U.T.T. he found hidden deep in the graveyard. He kept it hidden from roving gangs, pirates and cartels until he got it running and outfitted.
The hull of the ship is Cete-Armor; a tough, durable and most importantly…regenerating armor. While most ships defenses rely on energy fields the CETE-Armor is a secondary defensive barrier that can take weapons fire directly with as much resistance as most energy shield systems.
He began taking jobs as a courier or ship escort. Then moved into taking on bounties as Daliun Warriors integral in the ELE attack started popping up on the grid. Though he must be careful as many of the bounties were posted by Arcadians who were also looking for the remaining members of the “traitorous” 46th!
Pack Loren uses many tools in his Merc trade but relies on his Raptor armor in most serious situations. The Armor is not as big or powerful as most personal armor but the designers opted for a balance between man and…vehicle. Raptor Armor consists of dense bio-mechanical weave overlaid with dense nano polymer plates. It’s lightweight and can be worn and used effectively even unpowered. Powered it raises a soldiers strength but not to levels usually associated with powered armor. Raptor wearing soldiers can gain access to shipboard control rooms and access panels because the armors bulk is not like other armor of comparable power.
However the armor does not have the strength or firepower to engage in mass attack against the big armored battalions but Head to Head the battle can be decided by the skill of the soldier.
To make up for firepower the elite members of the 46th carry the LANCE. A particle weapon powered by a top secret power source (that’s right…I haven’t figured that out yet!) the LANCE can bring as much directed energy as a ship board cannon. Yet the Lance itself is light enough to carry into battle even by an un-armored soldier.
Pack Loren lost his Lance in the last Daliun Battle; a sacrilege for a member of the 46th, but he believed he was going to die in that battle. One of his goals is to return to Junn Space and retrieve his lost weapon.
The Capture of Cassad was his finest moment as a Bounty Hunter. He managed to pull it off without killing Cassad or any of the legendary Royal Guard who protected him. He told himself he took the job for the creds…enough that he could quit mercing for awhile and concentrate on getting his Lance back but truth was whenever he got the chance to go after a Daliun Warrior or anyone…Cassad Regime included, who contributed to the Junns attack on Arcadia he took it.
