Followers of the Arcane

Centered on the very fate of magick, Tryoh, the Followers of the Arcane study everything magickal and what brings magick into the universe. Around 1,000,000 EoD, the religious sect was formed when bursts of magick began to rip holes in the fabric of reality, causing certain fauna and flora to experience bursts of sentience. A variety of locations are stationed across Eskǎvaëís, each with a Priest or Priestess leading the area. While these sects are said to be a secret, any knowledge of the FotA is kept locked away.

Tryoh, Fate of Magick

by Amelia Nite (Artbreeder)
Tryoh is one of the ten Fates, the first beings in the universe. They are most known for their connection to magick and keeping the scales of magick perfectly balanced. While Tryoh has two forms, the first being humanoid with elvish ears and rainbow-hued butterfly wings, he also has second form.
by Amelia Nite (Artbreeder)
In their second form, Tryoh appears dark, with magenta skin and a scowl that can tear a hole into someone's soul. All the rage from millions of years has been buried and only comes out when he is sent into battle, which rarely ever happens due to the other Fates being by his side.

Ranks

The Divine
Known as the leader of the entire sect, the Divine can either be female or male, but there is always just one leader. When a Divine dies, a new Divine is chosen, but only after they've proven themselves to be just and controlling of their emotions. The Divine is said to pray continuously and visit various magickal rifts, hoping to connect with the rifts and find out why they formed. They are also required to write religious texts on Tryoh, his creations, and the rifts.
Priest / Priestess
A priest or priestess holds daily sermons and weekly ceremonies to bless the patrons of the sect while cleansing the religious building of any impurities. They also remind lower ranks of their duties and help to keep everyone on track. If one needs guidance, all they need is ask their priest or priestess for advice.
Paladin
A paladin is exactly as it says - a warrior knight gifted with arcane power via an oath. They keep the peace and prepare to rebalance the world if magick were to ever tip in the scales toward good or evil, as one cannot live without the other.

Oath of the Paladin

"I swear upon the Fate of Magick to take responsibility for ensuring balance remains in this glorious world. I will bear the intermediate chaos that this task creates."

Guardian / Sentinel
The Guardian has two different names - the Guardian, and the Sentinel. They are paladins dedicated to guarding the portal gates across Eskǎvaëís. Afte the portals became infrequent in use, the Guardians were no longer needed and returned to their regular paladin duties.
