Shathen
Shathen was once the largest country in the world, in terms of pure square mileage. It is still one of the leading countries when it comes to artistry, design and fashion. It was ruled by King Franco DeMarco, before passing onto the Regency of Nico Destinn, and then to Franco's daughter, Katrina. During the events of 1428AC, in the Pascal timeline, the country was ravaged by disaster at the hands of Drow, and by extension Medyavantress. The ancient white dragon once occupied the capital city of Wildreach, with the country then being run out of Northmoor. She was defeated by The Ragtags on the 33rd of Late Autumn, 1428AC.
The country has also suffered a major war with Drosten, as the western country crossed the border not far from Mutemount and took a sizeable force into Shathen territory. They razed the town of Westdenn and continued marching through the Vale of Omens towards Northmoor. The siege was brief but bloody, and the Bannerstriders held up until unlikely reinforcements arrived in the form of the An-Tek tribe of Orcs. The remaining Fist of the King soldiers retreated back to Mutemount. Since then, diplomacy was tried but to no avail.
During the campaign to defeat Medyavantress, the city of Northmoor was placed under lockdown, and eventually it was discovered that King DeMarco had been murdered. Thanks to efforts from the Ragtags, it was discovered that Skarrl was the culprit and he was bought to justice. Nico Destinn was then placed as Regent until Franco's children were old enough.
Unsatisfied with the lack of justice for Franco's death, Nico decided to bolster the ranks of the Bannerstriders, along with the help of The Ragtags, and marched their way directly into Drostenian territory to put an end to Isaac Forthwind's madness. On the 5th of Late Summer, 1429AC, a great siege was laid upon Isloaham and The Ragtags defeated the mad Emperor. Nico decided against interferring in their rebuilding and politics, and took the force back to Shathen. Eventually, he passed the reign down to Katrina DeMarco, but they had a disagreement a few years later and she banished Nico. Since then, without a firm hand on the tiller, warlords and barons siezed portions of Shathenian land and reduced the country to a fraction of the glory it once held.Northmoor
