The Holi Festival

The Holi Festival is a religious festival held annually throughout Fedema. The climax of the festival is the SamKoma ritual that uses a bite from the Spirit Spider to identify future members of the religious group that rules the nation called the Charites. Every Paladin and Cleric in this world will have gone through some version of the SamKoma and each ethnic group celebrates the Holi Festival in their own way. This includes Kennis which has turned it into a secular holiday often called "The Festival of Lights" with light representing knowledge.

The dominate religion of Fedema teaches that Charites created the world out of the void. Charites is often pictured as three circles interconnecting and in the sacred literature often speaks in three forms. A different form of the Tri-god as Charite is often called is believed to speak directly to each of the three great races and each race will have their own name for that form of Charite. The people of Kennis teachers, on the other hand, believe that three forces came together: earth, wind, and fire to create the world they have now and that those same forces continue to work and change the world they know today. Could it be that the three great races each represent one of these elements (Elves and their commitment to the earth, Drawves and their love of the forge, and humans who always seem to be looking up and beyond themselves for inspiration)? The Queenslanders believe their island was created by the son of Charites as a place of peace and harmony when the world Charites created chose war over peace, discord over tranquility, and greed over the common good. The reality is something quite different. Imagine two bubbles, each representing a different universe, bumping into each other but not popping. The point of contact is Dashura, the creation of Charites, a three in one being of unknow characteristics. Another being, known only as The Adversary, whose home is that second universe tries to influence this new world. The Adversary is able to touch it but not to create as Charites has done. But now, a third bubble (universe) has touched the original two and has changed the dynamics at work in Dashura. Magic is the result of this third entity and it appears to be trying to absorb Dashura into itself. How this can happen remains to be discovered as the story unfolds.
