Declaration of Breeding Restrictions

A document that was sent to all major Grands by the Order declaring certain breeding practices to be unethical and thus forbidden from that point on.
  • In general, Daulka of two different breeds are discouraged from breeding for the sake of 'racial purity'.
  • Daulka of two different breeds and the same elemental mark are forbidden from breeding.
  • It was further warned in the document that breeding couples that ignored this would be subjected to inspection and punishment.   Initially, this decree was scoffed at and ignored: who was the Order to tell them what to do? However, the Order made good on their threat. When they came to inspect the creshes, to the other Daulka's horror, the Order agents started destroying the nests of those that 'broke the rules', even going as far as slaying any newts/younglings. A violent resistance quickly rose up and the Order initially retreated, giving the citizens a false sense of hope that this 'decree' would scrapped.   The Order, however, had been expecting this and returned to the Grands not only in greater numbers, but with armor and weapons not seen before. This time, the citizens had no chance and were forced to submit. Over time, Grands became the homes of only one breed at a time and those that still had more than one breed were closely monitored. Those that ignored the rules would still have their nests and young destroyed, but now also ran the risk of being killed themselves if they resisted.   Many hate how much control the Order has, but for now they are too powerful to stand against.
