Lhespenbog

The Lhespenbog is a small wetland found in the western Shaar near the border of Lapaliiya.
The bog is located along the southeastern shore of Lake Lhespen at the northeastern edge of the Shaareach. The Lhespenbog is bordered to south and east by the Rathgaunt Hills.
The wetland is known for its sprawling reed-fields. One of the species of these reeds is study enough to be used by eastern weapon makers to create enchanted staves – Aiedo wither-sticks, found as far north as the city of Neverwinter.
These useful reeds along with the nearby population of Wemics has lead to a growing population of Bullywugs, a primitive race of frog-like humanoids, who use Wemic hair and local reeds in the creation of brooms of animated attack.
Recently there has been a booming smuggling trade between Kormul and various Bullywug tribes where Wemic hair, claws (often used as decorations) and slaves are sold. Smugglers often returning to Kormul and Lhesper with holds full of Brooms of Animated Attack (which are popular among security concious locals).
