Altered

The Altered are often considered to be the most mishapen of the Others. They are classified here when their mutations so not fall into another category.

Despite what comic books claim, radiation is not known to create functional mutations that would benefit an affected creature, and even if it could, the subsequent DNA damage would kill that same creature in a matter of days. But there are certain viruses that could potentially result in a functional mutation.

The end result is a creature once considered human.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Their mutations seem to be a random collection of changes. As if the virus effected them at multiple points rather then in a single portion of their DNA. Of all the subclasses, these Others are the most eclectic and bizzare in their appearance.

For game purposes, this sub race will follow all of the rules in the Ultramodern 5 Redux source book for the Altered race.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

There are plenty of Humans that do no see Others as being human. They are quite happy to collect samples and biological resources from the Altered. They often have dramatic and obvious mutations that makes hunting them easier then other kinds of Others.
