The Mad God

In the boundless expanse of the Omniverse, souls are cosmic entities, infinite spokes on one grand wheel of existence. However, within this intricate system, a single tiny spoke—out of trillions—was caught in a calamitous twist of fate. Instead of transitioning smoothly through incarnations as intended, it was snagged in a single, cyclical reality, its existence spiraling into an endless abyss of consciousness and self-awareness.
Trapped in this aberrant incarnation, the spoke existed in a half-awake state, conscious of its predicament, yet unable to extricate itself. It was an agonizing existence, an eternity spent in a state of perpetual awareness, the sweet release of oblivion forever out of reach. Over countless eons, this endless cycle took a dreadful toll, as subsequent reincarnations began to overlap, piling up in the bewildered, semi-formed mind of the trapped soul.
This abnormal state of affairs, however, went largely unnoticed by the vast multitude of other spokes in the grand wheel of existence. Engrossed in their own trajectories and realities, they paid little heed to the anomaly, a fateful indifference that would have dire consequences.
Free of scrutiny, the trapped soul continued its unnerving cycle of overlapping incarnations. Each cycle augmented its inherent power, compounding exponentially until it became an entity of unimaginable might. Yet, amidst this escalating power, it remained devoid of true consciousness or sentience. All that existed within was an insatiable hunger and the all-consuming impulse to devour, a cosmic maw unhinged.
The advent of this erratic entity, a god borne of a flaw in the grand design, sent shockwaves through the cosmos. Its unreasoning destructiveness, born not of malice but of a blind instinct to consume, wreaked havoc amongst the god-like spokes of the Oversoul. It became known as the Mad God, a testament to its chaotic power and insensate nature.
In the wake of the Mad God's unleashing, the cosmos plunged into a reign of terror. Many deific entities, once proud spokes on the grand wheel, were extinguished along with their creations, their lights snuffed out by the ravenous force of the Mad God. Others, more fortunate or perhaps more prudent, fled their dominions, seeking refuge in the distant reaches of the Omniverse.
Among the refugees was a minor-god, a lesser spoke known as Te-Vevutur. Carrying the moniker of the 'Name Giver', Te-Vevutur sought out a pocket of the Omniverse where he might exist far from the rampant destruction of the Mad God.   In this new haven, Te-Vevutur sought to create, to bring forth life and order, a stark contrast to the chaos left in the wake of the Mad God. However, he was acutely aware that he was not wholly safe. The influence of the Mad God, though distant, was ever-looming, a dread shadow cast across the expanse of the Omniverse. His every action, therefore, was tinged with a degree of caution, a necessary precaution to prevent attracting the attention of the insatiable entity.
