Mount Hagen

Mount Hagen (Grizzlies, AM)

One of the more well-known peaks in the snowy Grizzlies of Ambarino, Mount Hagen towers above Lake Isabella to the west and Beartooth Beck to the east, which provides the main pass through the western mountain range and joins up with the Dakota River further south.   Like most of Grizzlies West, Mount Hagen is completely snowcapped and conditions are very harsh and brutal. Most of the terrain is rough and ridge like with trails running up the western side into the Ewing Basin and the valley towards Lake Isabella. The south side is very steep with only a single valley with two trails being accessible. The north and east sides are either too steep to climb or require alternate routes upward.   The only people living in these parts are small groups of native americans and the occasional hardened survivalist. Yet even they are struggling with the climate and the lack of trading opportunities with the outside world.
