The Murfree Brood are known to roam the area, since the law rarely pays attention to the poor community in Roanoke Ridge. Although temperate most of the time, temperatures here can plummet below zero during heavy rain. Temperatures can also soar above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, especially around Van Horn.
Travellers don't like coming here as it sometimes seems like the Murfree Brood are everywhere, stalking people, especially at night. Not to mention their terifying appearances as these men are often mutated or disfigured in the most horrible ways most likely due to all the inbreeding.
