Castle Ravenloft

Castle Ravenloft stands alone, surrounded by a moat-like chasm.
Atop Ravenloft’s largest tower rests a massive beating crystal heart. The Heart of Sorrow is the heart of the castle itself, beating endlessly and straining when the castle withstands attacks.
Beneath the castle sits a dungeon connected to catacombs that house the bodies of the royal family.

Purpose / Function

The castle served as a home for the Zarovich family. After Strahds conversion it served as a stronghold for the count to rule from.

Alterations

In the Autumn of 943 a team of adventurers burned the castle to the ground. Over the following year the castle was restored to its former glory.

Architecture

Large stones make up the walls of the castle with the occasional wood decor for the interior.

History

The castle was built by Strahd after his father conquered the lands. Naming his new home after his father Barov, Strahd named his castle after his mother, Ravenovia.
