Drekiheim

Dragons once ruled as the dominant lifeforms. Backed by a patron cosmic entity, they developed independently on many worlds. Under the ecological pressures of ancient times, dragonkind achieved heights unseen in any single other category of life. Even they, however, were mortal; even they had weaknesses and flaws; even they could be driven under ground to avoid becoming yet another statistic to mass extinction.   They co-opted vast natural and dragon-made caverns and tunnels, along with digging out many, many new ones, in order to create an underground network on such a scale as to give raise to what became a subterranean ecumonopolis .... and beyond. Dragons' long lives gave to long-term thinking, a patience that turn out to have blocked them into a corner. In waiting out the apocalypse, they let life continue without challenge from its greatest survivor. When the dragons finally decided to return to the surfaces, they found it dominated by a new lifeforms. At first it didn't seem like a problem, but by sheer coincidence, they seemed almost preternaturally gifted at exploiting draconic vulnerabilities, driving them back underground once more. There they remain to this day.

Geography

Drekiheim is a series of ecumonopolises, or world-spanning cities, sequestered within the Crust of each world they sprang up on, dimensionally linked to each other (and separated from other attempts to pierce below) by dragon magic. The structures within, and architecture of, the complexes are such that every dragon's needs can be attended to: all but the most privet and/or untilitarian of air pockets is large enough to satisfy desires of flight, every tunnel and cavern is enchanted to allow intuitive navigation between any two points, personal abodes are warded from those acting on the less savory of draconic instincts, massive areas are dedicated to the agriculture, artisanry, industry, and residency, much like any living on a surface (though, scaled up to match the grand size of a fully-grown dragon). In short, it's become a thriving civilization in it's own right, though, know one is sure as to for how much longer.

Fauna & Flora

The only life aside from dragons are what dragons brought with them. Though, this means everything domesticated for food, it also means, those domesticated for entertainment, as pets, or for other goods and services they provide, as well as wholly wild populations carried in as a preservation effort; a sort of Draconic Ark if you will. Given when dragons withdrew from from the surfaces, this means much ancient life still roams in the bowels of many planets, including Earth; this also means that alien life can be found as a result of trade among the various ecumonopolises of Drekiheim.

Natural Resources

Given its location, Drekiheim has all the stone and metal it could ever want or need, the Draconic Ark ensured that it has crops and livestock, and dragonkind's inherently magical nature ensured that they would never be a loss for the arcane.
