Originally the son of Valentin Merkatz and older brother to Lilly Merkatz Stefan would've inherited the Merkatz and all it's assets. Yet despite this, Stefan couldn't be what his father expected him to be, feeling uncomfortable with who he was and often found admiring his sister and other ladies of the court, not for their beauty, but for what they where, women. But this wasn't a thing a lord of the court would dabble with, and so it was kept secret, shared with no-one. Yet the court has many eyes and few are truly loyal. And when his father learned about his midnight expeditions as "Stefany", he was furious and attempted to justify the situation, to no avail.
The harsh punishment of his father, and his father's friends took their toll and eventually he ran away, seeking shelter with his grandmother back in Neuhafen, who somehow had clung to life end now. Oma Merkatz, as she preferred to be called accepted Stefan like no-one else had and even offered him the thing he truly desired, to become a woman, and enact vengeance on those that had wronged him.

Now living in the house of his grandma, Stefan lives four lives, and the roles he plays depend on the potions given to him by Oma Merkatz.

- No-Name shop Assistant: Undercover person in grasp of Oma Merkatz.
- Stella Merkatz: The Confident and beautiful gossip girl and loved by those she comes across,
- The Werewolf murder: A veracious beast that has eluded the watch and has killed many, all of which have ties to Valentin Merkatz and treated Stefan Merkatz badly when his father was attempting to rectify his son's "condition".
