The Molten Rock Blacksmith
Rundown
The smithy of Inverness, run by a jovial dwarf who was left behind when his kin traversed the The Decayed Heights. And has been here ever since, he's a great teller of stories about most things, all of which untrue but are very entertaining.Description
The air shimmers with heat from the forge, and the clamor of hammer upon anvil is nearly deafening. The smithy is little more than an angled roof set over a workshop to keep out the elements. Hammers, tongs, and chisels adorn the wall beside a single blades, and the more mundane metal of farming implements and horseshoes. The blacksmith, a jovial Dwarf, carries a sword with a red-orange molten edge to a barrel and quenches the weapon in oil. They nod to their assistant, who begins working the billows in preparation for another temper.
Physical Structure
- The Workshop: Cradled at the back of the L-shaped house, the workshop features a fancy dwarven forge made in times of old, as well as various racks for weapons and creations. The workshop structure is a well build roof kept up by sturdy pillars. Which provides ample ventilation, and shelter from the elements. There is no direct route from the smithy to the building adjacent. The smithy is about 15ft. by 20ft.
- The House: The building is separated into three areas:
- The Living Area: This makes up the left side of the house, and runs all the way towards the back (35ft. by 20ft.), it features a small kitchen, a living room as well as two bedrooms. One for the smith and one for his adopted daughter.
- The Shop Front: This makes up the front of the house on the right side (the part in front of the smithy), here the locals and others can approach the smith and talk business, as this area is not very commonly used for that purpose only, it also serves as a storage for supplies and various boxes and other things.
