Day of Virtue

The Day of Virtue is one of the most celebrated days in modern day. Not only is it cherished by large amounts of people all over the world, but it is also widely seen as the most significant holiday in modern times.   The Advent War was long and brutal. Once it was over, the world felt the warmth of salvation after they had all but given up hope on such a thing. While the demons never completely stopped their advances, there came a time when mankind considered the war a victory. Shortly after, the luminaries that spearheaded the war performed their final contributions to the world and passed on to an afterlife as a reward. This day that the saints sacrificed themselves for the betterment of man was recognized for years to come as the Day of Virtue; an anniversary to celebrate the victory of the Advent War and the lives that fell for that very privilege.   The main objective and spirit of the Day of Virtue is to live up to a goal that needs to be fulfilled by the end of the day. In honor of the dead and luminaries alike, one must seek clarity by appeasing the 7 capital virtues: chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility. Each one is their own test, and by the end of the day, you will have walked the path of enlightenment and only have become better for it.   The challenges are as such:
Chastity:
One must practice abstinence from sexual intercourse, instead spending the day soothing oneself spiritually and mentally.
Temperance:
One must be mindful of one's intake on this day. Instead of prohibiting everything for the day's duration, three well balanced meals are important, and a singular drink is all that is necessary.
Charity:
One must give aid to others. Whether its a donation to a cause, the homeless, or a friend, do what you can to help, however little. If you truly have nothing to give, sharing useful knowledge is accepted as well.
Diligence:
One must spend the day under the mindset of doing everything they attempt with the maximum effort possible.
Patience:
One must be mindful of their instinctual emotions and practice tolerance and restraint toward the world and fate.
Kindness:
One must treat others with respect and dignity. Violence is all but illegal and a smile is a mask of gold.
Humility:
One must open themselves up to people and accept other's points of view, ideas, and dialogue as valid and contemplate their effectiveness.
During this holiday, people will wear bright clothes and commonly meet up for family meals or charity events. However, the idea of the holiday is primarily for self-improvement in the form of enlightenment; to bring oneself closer to that of the luminaries, angels and saints. It is common philosophy that the betterment of the individual will always lead to the betterment of the community and, thus, the world. The last objective of this holiday is to make Earth as least welcoming to demons as possible.
