Mai Tachibana

Mai Tachibana is the Mayor of Southport. She runs the day-to-day affairs of the city, making sure the water supply is secure, trash is disposed of properly, and so on. The Royal Southport Constabulary report to her for everyday matters; although, they ultimately are under the direction of Duke Severin Tachibana Larsson.
Mai Tachibana is a descendent of Lord-Mayor Tachibana Jang Hideo, and the Tachibana family traditionally holds the office of mayor in Southport. The mayors of Southport are no longer referred to as "Lord-Mayor" since the city now is governed by the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Sudland - the Tachibana-Larssen family.
Mai Tachibana's relationship with Duke Severin Tachibana Larsson is strained, as she considers the Tachibana-Larssen family usurpers of the city of Southport and believes that her ancestors were forced into the alliance with King Haakan Larssen. She is intelligent enough, however, to keep her thoughts to herself, as the duke is known to be ruthless in dealing with traitors and disloyalty. As administrator of Southport, she is competent and efficient.
