Chansyrl Fine Harness

Purpose / Function

This well-known tannery is, for some, the sole reason they come to Red Larch.  The best harnesses and leather work in the Dessarin Valley, and some would argue the world.  It's not uncommon to see Chansyrl work everywhere from Phandalin to Triboar to Amphail.  And its not unheard of too see them as far as Baulder's Gate.

Architecture

The tanning pits and tan-works sit outside of town.  The store, a small wooden building next to the inn, smells of fresh leather and oil, rather than animal urine.  If the store is closed, the workers can be found at the pits, about a half hour walk along the Kheldell Path.

History

Now owned by the grandaughter of the founder, Chensyrl's Fine Harness is a staple of Red Larch, and the new building along the main road has increased the wealth of its clientel, who may have once been unwilling to go to the tannery proper.
