Type-842 Guided Assisted Gravity Bomb
Mechanics & Inner Workings
A small sensor on the nose of the bomb allows it to guide itself towards specific targets below via actuating fins at the front and tail. A rocket motor activates shortly after the bomb is dropped, propelling these projectiles to a speed of up to mach 3.4 as they hurtle towards the ground. An optimized chemical explosion then occurs with a yield of around 15,000 lbs of TNT. The warheads can be configured for bunker busting capabilities that penetrate deep into the earth, anti-tank configurations that strike armored vehicles from the top and detonate shortly after penetration, or air burst anti-personnel explosives that pepper a roughly 500 meter radius with small flechettes.
