Alvere (ælvɛɹ'i)
Alvere are the current newest species on Deus, with the first generation being roughly a year old as of the year 48 4C. They are the second of the Fourth Course species, after Leocureils, and the short gap in time between the creation of the two has led to speculation that the Fourth Course may, like the Second Course, be a time of great species diversity explosion.
Alvere are an insectoid species, with an upright body plan divided into three segments. The torso segment has two pairs of limbs emerging from it, with each limb ending in two fingers and an opposable thumb. The abdominal segment has a single pair of limbs which attach near its meeting with the torso, with each limb ending in a three-toed foot. The head segment sports a large pair of eyes with a smaller pair above them; a pair of antenna capable of detecting scents, magic[citation needed], and telepathic signals; and a mouth.
The body of an Alvere is covered in an exoskeleton of plates in two colors. One of these colors is always black, while the other varies between individuals and can shift based on emotion. The placement and ratio of the two colors varies wildly.
Only one race of Alvere exists, and their population is currently confined to a small area in southeast Agri. There are currently fifty individuals of this species, consisting of twenty sibling groups of two to three individuals.

Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Alvere possess a "hive mind" of sorts. While each individual possesses their own train of thought, sibling Alvere are privy to one another's minds and can communicate telepathically, both voluntarily and involuntarily, at any distance. As there is currently only one mature generation of Alvere, it is unclear whether this connection extends through generations or merely within them, though signs seem to point towards each generation having a separate hive[citation needed].
In addition to the automatic connection between siblings, Alvere also possess the capability to telepathically speak with other nearby Alvere. This forms their primary means of communication, as their mouths are not well-suited for verbal speech in the current languages of Deus. This telepathy can be extended to speak with other mortals and with magical devices designed for the purpose of receiving messages, though contact with mortals is difficult[citation needed] and often results in messages being difficult to understand.
Alvere also communicate emotional information via the color-changing plates of their exoskeleton. These plates shift color based on emotion, with a stronger color representing a stronger emotion. The natural color of the plates reflects the Alvere's general temperament[citation needed]. Emotions are indicated via pheromones as well, though only Alvere are capable of detecting and understanding these signals[citation needed]. The emotional color associations are as follows[citation needed]:

Naming Traditions
Alvere names are just as unpronounceable to other mortals as Dean is to the Alvere. However, many of the current generation of Alvere have adopted written Dean names for convenience. These names are long, heavy on stops and consonants in general, and lacking nasals and round vowels entirely.
Unique names, whether spoken or written, belong to the hive rather than the individual, and are chosen collectively by members of the hive. Hives that are too young to make the decision for themselves are given a temporary name that is significantly shorter than a unique name[citation needed]. All Alvere have a signifier after their hive name to indicate the individual in birth order, which when written takes the form of a letter from the Dean alphabet.
Written hive names include:

I like how you listed the emotions that specific colors signify. And the [citation needed] sections may just be reminders for you to add things after Summer Camp, but I liked the inclusion. It made me feel like I was reading an in world article about a species others were just beginning to learn about.
Thank you! And yeah—some of the [citation needed] are a little bit "am I going to change this?" but mostly they're there to add the feeling that no one in-universe is really yet sure on the details.
