Library of the Seventh Crow
One of the most notorious buildings in Deus is House Corvus's Library of the Seventh Crow. The location of this library is unknown to all save those in charge of maintaining transport to and from the building, with even many of its own librarians unaware of where it truly is.
Access to the building is only available via a teleportation circle in the center of its foyer, the key to which is only known by a few librarians. Furthermore, the circle can only connect to one of six others, located in the six House Corvus libraries on mainland Deus. Only approved House Corvus members are granted access to these circles.
The library's interior consists of a circular foyer ringed with bookshelves, with archways leading off to four wings. Above are six identical floors, accessible by staircases within the wings. In place of the foyer on the upper floors is a circular balcony, ensuring that each floor has equal shelf space while allowing for a view of the entire center of the library.
Inside, the library is dimly lit by lines of Elder Script runes along the bookshelves. These runes give off only blue light, but there are rooms along each wing set aside for research, with armchairs and desks in place of bookshelves, and these rooms are stocked with brighter, white magical lights for ease of reading.
The floors of the library are structured in accordance with the six other libraries maintained by House Corvus—plays and poetry on the first floor, fictional prose on the second, and so on. As with the lesser libraries, the Library of the Seventh Crow aims to stock at least one copy of every book written under each subject. The seventh floor is House Corvus's private archives, consisting of secret or once-lost literature, some only found within the library.
Just as with the smaller House Corvus libraries, the librarians of the Seventh Crow live on-site, in a small wing located off one wing of the fifth floor. As there does not appear to be any structure underneath to support this wing, it is theorized that the library is located underground, completely encased in stone. This would explain why no one has found it from the outside, but its true location is still a mystery unanswerable even by the library's own archives.
