The Sunset Coyote

Due to Beauchêne Wizards' College maintaining that its gates close at sunset and open at sunrise—not one exception—students who are late to return from off-campus partying, who've lost track of time from ill-advised alcohol consumption, or who "just forgot when sunset was today, I swear—" need some place to spend the night, and the Sunset Coyote steps up.

The Sunset Coyote is located a mere five-minute walk from the gates of Beauchêne, making it convenient for quick reentry once the sun is up. In addition, it offers cheaper rates to current Beauchêne students to seal the deal and ensure that it's easily the most practical place for stranded students to spend the night. This business plan has remained unchanged since its foundation, and in the fifty-nine years the inn has been in business, almost every single student in need of a place to spend a single night has flocked to it.

While not its primary value, the inn also provides meals in its ground-floor dining space. Since most who would partake in such a service are students about to check out and return to Beauchêne for morning classes, the entire menu, served all day, centers around breakfast foods, and the inn does not carry alcoholic beverages. The unique quirks of the menu make the Sunset Coyote a somewhat popular place to stop for lunch and dinner as well, and it's not unheard of for students to take the party to the inn with the intention of staying well past sunset.

Architecture

The Sunset Coyote is constructed in a charming and iconic medieval style, with a first floor constructed from cobblestones and the overhanging upper floors designed to mimic wattle-and-daub construction. The roof is covered in red-and-orange shingles, and the wooden beams supporting the overhangs end in carved leaves at the top.

Inside, the inn is warm and cozy, and though the rooms are smaller than usual, they are nicely furnished and serve their purpose well. One quirk of the building is that while it sports the latest in heating and cooling runespells, it uses neither magical nor electric lights, opting instead for torches despite electricity predating it by over a century and magical lights being in use for centuries before that. Its current owner, Mama Rosé Lemieux, cites the choice as, "being an integral part of [the inn's] tradition and charm."
