Liwanu

Liwanu (a.k.a. Joyful Rain)

Liwanu, known affectionately as "Joyful Rain" among her people, serves as the spiritual guide and leader of the sweat lodge ceremonies in Banewood Asylum. As a member of the Kutauri—a noble beastkin race with the lower body of a horse and the upper body of a humanoid—Liwanu embodies the resilience and spirit of her community. She is revered for her deep connection to nature and her role in guiding her community through purifying rituals that strengthen communal bonds and promote spiritual well-being.

Physical Description

Liwanu stands out with equine features designed for speed and endurance. She is often noted for her unique coat colors, which may have shades of blue or green, symbolizing her connection to water and the natural world.

Personality

Liwanu is compassionate and empathetic, traits that make her an effective spiritual leader. She is wise and insightful, often sought out for advice on matters beyond the spiritual. Despite her approachability, she maintains a reserved and mystical aura, adding to the reverence with which she is regarded by the Kutauri and other residents of Banewood.

Cultural Role

In her role as the leader of the sweat lodge ceremonies, Liwanu uses herbal incense and heat stones to facilitate deep spiritual cleansing. Participants in her ceremonies undergo a process of renewal, symbolically shedding their past burdens through rituals that involve bathing in cold spring water and entering the sweat lodge with humility.

Contributions to the Community

Liwanu is instrumental in bridging the gaps within the Kutauri community, particularly between the peaceful Harras and the militant Harrat Wing. Her ceremonies are not only spiritual in nature but also serve as a platform for reinforcing the community’s resolve and unity.
