Humans

Humans are humanoids standing on average between 5 ft and 6'5" ft tall as fully grown adults with skin colours ranging from light pink to dark brown. Human hair comes naturally in shades from blonde to black and can be straight, curly or anywhere in between. As Humans are the most populace race they are also the most varied with differing cultural ties and belief systems spread across Devorn. The Great Unshackling changed Humanity, perhaps less than some races but certainly more than others. Humans on a whole seem more in tune with the natural cycle of Devorn now that it has been restored and have an innate understanding of what to do in certain situations. Additionally the lifespan of Humans expanded, they still mature at around 16 years of age but they now may live naturally for 150 years.   Racial Traits (Pick 2 non-mandatory traits):
  • Mandatory - Limited Prescience: +1 Luck and the ability use a full round action to cast Hydromancy as if it were a spell with no preparation time and without needing the requisite Vigor nor the material components. Additionally any luck spent on the Ritual Casting roll for this Hydromancy counts double. The base Stamina cost for this Hydromancy is increased to 8 and once used it may not be reused until at least a full month has passed. Increased connection to the very heart of Devorn grants Humanity the occasional flash of inspiration or glimpse of elsewhere.
  • Quick Wits: +1 Deduction and +1 Teaching. Knowledge is far easier to pass along if you truly understand what you're speaking of.
  • Blindly Stubborn: May reroll a failed Resist Coercion or Courage roll once per day, taking the higher of the two results. The changes to Devorn may have been great but they couldn't fix the most ingrained of traits.
  • Strong Lineage: +1 Reputation Level and +1 Education. Who your family are and where they came from can certainly be an advantage in the right situations.
  • People Person: +1 Charisma and +1 Persuasion. If there's ever a party, you're probably in the centre of it.
  • Working Class: +1 Endurance and +1 Brawling. If you're not from one of them fancy families you probably know two things: How to fight, and how to put up with a lot of shit.
According to The Order of the Broken Tome Humans make up around 64% of all known sentient humanoids on Devorn.
